Can you believe it, it’s 2013!! We hope your holidays were great and Santa treated you well. Now it is time to start another year of hopefully, HEALTH, HAPPINESS AND PROSPERITY. Boat Shows are upon us, starting with Trawlerfest on Jan 31 through Feb. 2nd. Why not come on down for Ground Hog Day??? We will be displaying two used vessels at this show in Fort Lauderdale, as our new vessels will not be ready. One will be a 2006 55’ Hampton Pilothouse and the other a 1996 48’Krogen Whaleback Trawler, both in excellent condition. We will also have many boats at our docks for you to see. For a list of those vessels, please give us a call.
At the Miami Yacht and Brokerage Show on Collins Avenue which is Feb. 14 through Feb. 18, we will be on the very North end of the show just North of the Passagemaker Tent on dock TP26 and TP27 which is on Ramp 4. Here we will be displaying two brand new vessels. First, will be a 2013 68’ Hampton Endurance all decked out for you. We will also be debuting our newest addition to the line, a 2014 Hampton Endurance 720! She is just FABULOUS, right down to the Double Portuguese Bridge, Skylounge and Five, yes FIVE heads, a Formal Dining Room and built in Bar! You won’t want to miss this beauty!!! Remember, all our new yachts come pretty much complete down to the dishes, silverware, bed linens, towels, art work, florals, etc. I’ve personally selected beautiful fabrics and I’m sure you will find no other vessel with the décor of the Hampton vessels as each one is done differently.
Then it’s off to Palm Beach Boat Show which runs Mar. 21st through Mar. 24th. We will be featuring three vessels at this show. Not quite sure what we will be featuring at this time, but as the time gets close, just give us a call or better yet come to the show and be surprised! No matter what size your slip, we have a boat just the right size boat!
Our last Endurance was in the country less than two weeks prior to her sale to her happy new owner. If any of these new vessels intrigue you, please don’t be disappointed and not get the boat of your dreams by being a day late. You can also order and reconfigure the Hampton of your dreams, and also join us in Shanghai for the final inspection. So many of our clients have done the trip and had a grand time. WHEN YOU LEAVE YOUR VESSEL FOR AN EXTENDED LENGTH OF TIME, IT IS WISE TO CLOSE ALL WINDOW COVERINGS TO PROTECT THE WOOD FROM OUR VERY STRONG SUN. IT IS ALSO A GOOD IDEA TO PLEDGE ALL THE WOOD IN THE BOAT ONCE A YEAR TO KEEP THE LUSTER LOOKING NEW!
LEMON PUDDING CAKES
These magical little desserts start out as one batter and separate during baking into fluffy cake hiding a creamy layer of lemon pudding. Make ahead tip: Pudding cakes can be held at room temperature for up to 4 hours. You will need eight 4 – 6 ounce ovenproof ramekins or custard cups.
1 cup granulated sugar divided
1/3 cup all purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup low fat milk
2 teaspoons freshly grated lemon zest
1/2 cup lemon juice
2 tablespoons butter, melted
2 large egg yolks
3 large egg white, at room temp.
Confectioner's sugar for dusting
PREHEAT OVEN TO 350. Coat eight 4 – 6 ounce ramekins or custard cups with vegetable spray place in a large deep roasting pan or baking dish. Put a kettle of water on to boil for the water bath.
Whisk ¾ cup sugar, flour and salt in medium bowl. Make a well in the dry ingredients. Add milk, lemon zest, lemon juice, butter, and egg yolks. Whisk until smooth.
Beat egg whites in a mixing bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed until soft peaks form. Gradually add the remaining ¼ cup sugar and continue beating until stiff and glossy. Fold the egg whites into the batter (it will be thinner than other cake batter and its OK if it’s a little lumpy). Evenly divide among the prepared ramekins placed in the roasting pan.
Place the roasting pan in the oven and carefully pour in enough boiling water to come almost halfway up the sides of the ramekins.
Bake the pudding cakes until golden brown and the cakes have pulled away slightly from the sides of the ramekins, 25 to 30 minutes. Transfer the ramekins to a wire rack to cool for 15 minutes. Dust with confectioners’ sugar and serve warm or at room temperature.
